Artist Advising pairs MISC’s resident artists with new creators for one-on-one guidance.
Whether it’s music production, songwriting, DJing, or releasing music, our resident artists help newer artists learn the ropes, develop their skills, and navigate their creative path. The application below is for beginner artists who are looking to be paired with an advisor.

Anyone interested in making music. Beginner artists who want guidance can sign up as advisees, and more experienced artists can apply to become a resident artist. Discover our current team of resident artist-mentors here.

Anything related to making music or building your skills as an artist— production basics, songwriting, DJing, recording, releasing music, creative feedback, and navigating the music scene. We will pair you up with someone who specializes in what you want to learn!

We match advisors and advisees based on genre, interests, and the skills you want to learn so you can get the most out of the experience.

Once we pair an advisor with an advisee, we’ll connect you so you can start working together. From there, you’ll set goals and schedule meeting times that help you make progress throughout the semester. Think of it as having a more experienced artist in your corner to help guide you along the way.
